Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a Section 504 Coordinator to support the implementation of the Rehabilitation Act and ADA provisions across the division. The role advises administrators and building teams, maintains 504 data, and supports summer school activities as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree, at least three years of teaching or school counseling experience, and strong knowledge of 504/ADA requirements, with opportunities for professional development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years teaching/school counseling experience.
• Preferred Master's degree.
• Experience implementing Section 504/ADA procedures.
• Ability to respond to inquiries from diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between school and central office for 504 procedures.
• Respond to administrative/legal/compliance queries from staff, parents and others.
• Assist with 504/ADA grievance procedures.
• Maintain all 504 data including eligibility meetings and MDR meetings.
• Attend Section 504 MDR meetings.
• Coordinate Section 504 training and staff development.
