Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist school visitors and provide information as needed.
  • Answer phones and address the needs of those calling.
  • Check-in guest teachers and coordinate sub coverage for classes.
  • Coordinate purchasing of supplies and service for office equipment.
  • Submit building use requests and IT requests.
  • Maintain staff lists, phone lists, and schedules.
  • Calendar responsibilities and submission of timesheets.
  • Maintain student activity accounts and process invoices.
  • Assist at parent/teacher conferences, open houses, and board meetings.
  • Assist with opening/closing procedures for the school year and with health-related tasks as needed.

Lamphere Schools is contracting the services of Edustaff for secretarial staff.

Position: Secretary - Lessenger Elementary (Edustaff)
Work Schedule: Full Time, 11 Months, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
Compensation: $21.34; based on like experience
Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • 1 - 3 years of school-related work experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MiSTAR, Frontline, Google applications, and Axis Camera System software
  • Customer service oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform routine office skills, including filing and operating office equipment (copier, scanner, fax machine, etc.)
  • Ability to coordinate and process data in a timely and accurate manner
  • Self-directed with the ability to perform job tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines accurately and precisely
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with staff members
  • Ability to recognize problem areas and seek solutions to increase efficiency
  • Demonstrate confidentiality for student privacy reasons

  • Carry out bank deposits and process invoices/payables/reimbursements

  • Operate and maintain office equipment
  • Coordinate and assist at Parent/Teacher Conferences, Open House, building Board Meetings, and other large school-based events
  • Assist in preparation of materials for the opening and closing of the school year
  • Assist with first aid and dispensing of medication, as needed
  • Assist students with health concerns, when necessary
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Perform other office duties as requested by the building administration

Reports to: Lessenger Elementary Administration

Employment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189.
Ability to withstand the strains and successfully manage the responsibilities of the position.
Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance. Regular and dependable presence during school hours is essential.
All staff members are expected to maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward one another at all times.

Selected candidates will be required to have a district paid fingerprint criminal history check processed through the Michigan State Police and FBI.
