Job summary

SMS Data Products Group, Inc. is seeking a WAN Engineer to support the AFCENT contract at Shaw AFB, SC. The role covers design, engineering, and maintenance of enterprise WAN infrastructure, routing, and IP/MPLS backbone operations, with a focus on security and reliability.

The engineer will analyze metrics, implement QoS, and collaborate on datacenter deployments while providing IT and networking support across CONUS/TDY travel as required. DoD clearance or interim clearance is required.

Qualifications

Associates in related field with 3+ years IT experience or 5+ years IT experience.
Knowledge of threats to a network and how to mitigate them.
Ability to provide actionable feedback to enhance collection and analysis.
Experience with Microsoft server installation roles, Active Directory, storage, performance management, and maintenance.
Experience designing, engineering, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise WAN architectures using BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
CCNP and ITIL Foundation certifications are required or within 60 days to obtain ITIL Foundation.
Must have DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Design and engineer enterprise WAN architecture.
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot the National IP/MPLS backbone network.
Configure and implement routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
Analyze networking metrics and identify performance issues.
Configure and troubleshoot QoS with policing, shaping, and queuing.
Develop reports and trend analyses on bandwidth and security incidents.
Plan and deploy enterprise datacenter hardware and software on project timelines.
Provide general IT and Networking support.
