Job summary

SMS DATA PRODUCTS GROUP, INC is seeking a WAN Engineer to support our AFCENT contract at Shaw AFB, SC. The role focuses on enterprise WAN design, configuration, and support across a 24/7 backbone, with a strong emphasis on routing protocols and network security.

You will contribute to planning, deployment, and maintenance of datacenter hardware and software, collaborating with teams to ensure secure, reliable network operations in a federal environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and engineering enterprise WAN architectures.
• Familiar with BGP, OSPF, MPLS and related routing protocols.
• Ability to analyze networking metrics and identify suboptimal performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer enterprise WAN architecture.
• Configure and monitor the National IP/MPLS backbone network.
• Configure routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and troubleshoot them.
• Analyze networking metrics and security incidents.
• Provide IT management and general networking support.
• Provide LAN and O&M support as needed.
