Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Aeronautics Systems team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. You will contribute to software design, development, testing, and integration across multiple programs and operate within safety-critical embedded environments.

Ideal candidates have a STEM degree with hands-on C/C++ experience, familiarity with RTOS and CI/CD, and a DoD Secret or higher clearance. Collaboration across Agile teams and DevOps practices is key to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2+ years in software engineering OR Master’s with 0 years OR PhD with 0 years
• Familiar with Safety-Critical Embedded Real Time Software
• Familiar with SDLC and Agile (Product Owner/Scrum Master)
• Experience with C, C++, Python, PowerShell, VBScript, Bash or KornShell for Safety-Critical apps
• Familiar with RTOS (VxWorks, Integrity, RT Embedded Linux)
• Familiar with static & dynamic code analysis tools and fuzzing tools
• Familiar with software change control, CI/CD tools
• Active DoD Secret level or higher clearance (in-scope) and PAR

Responsibilities

• Support development of Strategic Operating Units, including sustainment and modernization
• Contribute to software engineering initiatives across programs
• Engage in software design, development, testing and integration
• Support all phases of flight, mission, lab and tools software life cycle
