Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks an Electrical Avionics Technician 3/4 to support the B-2 Modification Team at Whiteman AFB, MO. The role requires an active security clearance and offers challenging work in a classified environment.

Responsibilities include laying out, fabricating, and installing electrical wiring on aircraft, testing systems, and repairing wiring while complying with drawings and manuals. Overtime and shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years electrical experience in aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing or maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.
• Must be able to pass electrical training class for continued employment.
• Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical tasks and pass respirator clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties required to lay out, fabricate, and install electrical wiring or coaxial cable on aircraft.
• Checks, tests, and troubleshoots electrical systems for conformance to specifications and performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary.
• Cuts wire to length, strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves.
• Attaches wire or electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Must obtain and maintain electrical qualifications and certifications as directed by supervisor.
• Maintenance tasks include configuring aircraft for maintenance, and various system checkouts.
• Fault isolation, troubleshooting, and repair of system failures during operational checks.
