Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks an Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3/4 to support the B-2 modification team at Whiteman AFB, MO. The role requires reading engineering drawings, fabricating major structures, and maintaining quality in a classified environment.

Candidates must be able to work 1st–3rd shifts with overtime as needed and obtain/maintain a Government Secret Clearance. Willingness to relocate or travel 10% is noted.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, job guides, and manuals.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance and program access.
• Flexibility to work extended shifts, weekends, and on-call status.

Responsibilities

• Assemble major structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads and subassemblies.
• Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
• Perform minor part-fitting: filing, sawing, burring, riveting, drilling, reaming.
• Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
• Translate blueprints into fabrications and ensure quality per procedures.
• Maintain PPE and comply with safety standards on the shop floor.
