Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Software Developer for the GMD Weapon System Fire Control team in Huntsville. You will help write and test software in Ada/C++/Java, translate Ada code to C++, and contribute to modernization efforts that impact national defense.

You will review requirements and test cases, work in a collaborative environment, and travel up to 10% as needed. A DoD Secret clearance is required to start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree with 0–2 years.
• Recent experience in Ada, C++, or Java development.
• Willingness to become highly proficient with Ada.
• Strong math and physics background.
• Ability to understand and implement complex algorithms.
• Must be able to support an in-person/closed-area work environment.
• Travel up to 10% to support business needs.
• Active DoD-issued Secret clearance at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software for the GMD Weapon System Fire Control team.
• Collaborate to understand, implement, test existing and new capabilities and algorithms.
• Participate in code modernization and Ada-to-C++ translation.
• Support reviews of requirements and test cases for the GFC software team.
