Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a software engineer for the GMD Weapon System Fire Control software team. You will work on Ada, C++, and Java to evaluate and manage missile defense software critical to national security.

You will review requirements, test cases, and contribute to code modernization in a collaborative environment. The role requires a STEM degree with relevant experience, willingness to travel up to 10%, and a current DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 2 years experience, or Master’s with 0–2 years.
• Recent Ada, C++ or Java development experience.
• Willingness to become highly proficient with Ada software development.
• Strong Math and Physics background.
• Ability to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
• Current active DoD-issued Secret security clearance required to start.

Responsibilities

• Write and test software for the GFC system in the GWS team.
• Review requirements and test cases for software maturity.
• Participate in code modernization and Ada-to-C++ translation efforts.
