Job summary

Poudre School District in Fort Collins, CO seeks a 2026-27 Teacher Secondary Special Education Long Term Substitute at Boltz Middle School to cover a leave of absence. The assignment begins immediately and runs through November 6, 2026.

The role requires a valid Colorado teaching license or Substitute Authorization, and carries the long-term substitute rate of $185.00 per day for 188 work calendar days (one semester).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
• Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
• Criminal background check required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, materials, and IEP goals.
• Instruct students across curriculum in various settings.
• Organize schedules for students and paraprofessionals and assist in master schedule.
• Supervise and direct special education paraprofessionals.
• Create a classroom environment maximizing instructional opportunities and manage behavior.
• Monitor student progress and adapt supports as needed.
• Communicate progress with parents/guardians and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and outside agencies to improve outcomes.
• Demonstrate commitment to diversity and engage families in education.
• Participate in meetings and conferences.
• Attend work timely and perform other duties as assigned.
