Denver Public Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute to teach the standard-based curriculum in the absence of the classroom teacher from January 4, 2026 to March 26, 2026. The role involves counseling students, monitoring behavior, and delivering instruction aligned with district curriculum.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field and a valid Colorado teaching license (CDE).

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
• Hold a Colorado teaching license (CDE) or eligibility for one.
• Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle inequity in the community.
• Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.

Responsabilidades

• Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
• Monitors, supervises, coordinates, and enforces rule of conduct and behavior of assigned students and reinforces positive student behaviors.
• Observes, evaluates, reports, and records students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
• Prepares educational course outlines, objectives, and materials according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
• Establishes and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects to students.
• Presents subject matter to students, using various teaching methods and technology, adjusting teaching style and method to meet student learning style.
• Instructs students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.
• Prepares, administers, assigns, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software.
• Prepares student, attendance and activity reports as required by administrators.
• Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems and coordinates instructional efforts.
