Job summary

Memphis Shelby County Schools is seeking an experienced administrator to oversee operations of an assigned secondary school and to assume principal duties in their absence. The role requires master’s degree in Educational Administration, state licensure, and proven leadership with 3–5 years of teaching and supervision.

You will supervise staff, coordinate programs, monitor compliance, and help advance student achievement within district policies.

Qualifications

• Master''s Degree in Educational Administration or supervision is required.
• State certification in Administration/Supervision at elementary and/or secondary level.
• 3–5 years of successful teaching experience with some leadership experience.
• Degree Equivalency Formula allows substitution with related credentials and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and administration of assigned school; assume Principal duties in their absence.
• Supervise professional, paraprofessional, administrative and support staff; conduct performance evaluations.
• Develop and implement staff training and development programs.
• Plan and implement school-wide programs, goals, and policies in line with district standards.
• Assist in budget preparation and reporting; coordinate procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate safety, facilities, and grounds inspections; manage calendar and schedules.
• Monitor instructional program and textbook accountability; support standardized testing programs.
• Maintain student conduct standards and enforce discipline with due process.
