Vanguard Academy, Inc. in Texas seeks an instructional specialist to plan, develop, and implement HQIM-aligned programs with the district’s curriculum team.

You will work with campus leadership and teachers to promote equity and maximize student achievement through internalization of lessons and data-driven guidance. You will model research-based practices, deliver adult training, and provide feedback to teachers to enhance instructional effectiveness.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Texas teaching certification required.
• Masters in Educational Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, or similar field preferred.
• Bilingual/ESL certification preferred.

Primary Purpose:

To work with the district curriculum and instruction team to plan, develop, and implement effective instructional programs that are aligned to the district’s adopted High Quality Instructional Materials or other curriculum. To work with campus leadership and teachers to develop equity and access instructionally across the district and increase student achievement as measured by state and local tests by leading lesson internalization or planning, implementation of HQIM or adopted curriculum, modeling and teaching Research Based Instructional Practices, guiding implementation of district initiatives, and providing data showing both progress and achievement over time. To provide feedback to classroom teachers as a means to improve instructional practice and the student experience.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree, required
• Valid Texas Teacher certification, required
• Bilingual/ESL certification, preferred
• Masters in Educational Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, or other similar fields of study,
• preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
• Knowledge of research based instructional strategies for all learners
• Experience in providing coaching/feedback to teachers
• Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of subject area TEKS, ELPS, and state assessments
• Proficiency with technology such as Google Suite, LMS, DMAC, iReady, IXL, Lead4Ward, etc.
• Outstanding writing and public speaking skills
• Organizational and planning abilities
• Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups
• Ability to implement policy and procedures
• Ability to access, analyze, and interpret data
• Ability to evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Experience:

• 5 years of teaching experience in content area
• 5 years of teaching experience in grade band, preferred
• Campus level leadership (grade level lead, department head, administration, etc.), preferred
