Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Corrections seeks a certified teacher to deliver integrated educational programs in the Pee Dee region, under the direction of the superintendent and regional principal.

You will plan differentiated lessons for secondary students, integrate literacy, math, science, social studies, life skills, and career readiness, and provide individualized instruction based on assessment data.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid South Carolina teaching credential.
• Certification in secondary Math, Science, Social Studies, or English/Language Arts.
• Plan lessons to differentiate instruction for secondary-level students.
• Provide instruction based on assessment data to meet individual needs.
• Complete four weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the superintendent and the Pee Dee Regional principal, the certified teacher functions as a teacher and provides Integrated educational programs in the Pee Dee region.
• Plan lessons to accommodate differentiated instruction and diverse learning styles for secondary-level students.
• Prepare lesson plans integrating various content and activities, including literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, life skills, and career readiness.
• Provide Individualized instruction based on assessment data to meet each individual's unique needs.
• Evaluate individuals' progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
• Prepare instructional objectives that will achieve the goals of the planned educational program.
• Satisfy all mandatory training requirements of (PUSD/SCDC).
• Perform all other educational and related duties as assigned
