Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferably in Education or closely related field.
• Experience providing instruction and teaching of special needs students.
• This position may require communication modalities dependent upon employment placement.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' academic and habilitative needs and implement curriculum and programs.
• Develop long and short term objectives, prepare lesson plans and assessments, and utilize appropriate teaching methods.
• Provide professional guidance related to students' needs, growth and development.
• Serve as a back-up substitute for residential advisor providing dorm supervision of students as needed for absences.
• Prepare and maintain a variety of student records showing assessment, progress, difficulties and needs.
• Meet with the Direct Support Manager to discuss program goals, implementation plans and progress and modifications.
