Job summary

  • Bachelor's degree or eight years' experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business materials and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to manage managers, customers, and staff.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and statistical inference to operations.

Responsibilities

  • Administers a systematic, proactive safety program.
  • Ensures production schedules meet on-time delivery and quality specs.
  • Provides leadership to meet budgetary goals.
  • Analyzes daily production and operating reports to resolve issues.
  • Develops and revises standard work, job instructions and process controls.
  • Leads lean manufacturing implementation and talent development.
  • Supports union avoidance strategies.
  • Enforces plant work rules consistently.
  • Supervises 5–8 group leaders; hires and trains staff.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans tasks and evaluates performance.
  • Travel up to 25%.

Your Role at Batesville:
  • Responsible for administration of systematic, proactive safety program
  • Assures capacity is available to meet production schedules on-time, while meeting quality specifications and also meeting delivery schedules
  • Provides leadership to meet budgetary goals.
  • Analyzes daily production and operating reports and facilitates countermeasures to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to meet policy deployment objectives.
  • Responsible to ensure process to develop and revise standard work, job instructions and process controls, and also confirms workers comply with standards.
  • Provides leadership in teaching and developing the organization in lean manufacturing principles,
  • Provides leadership to develop organization, and procures high levels of talent to meet company strategy, as well as tactical plans.
  • Assesses, analyzes and provides interventions to improve human performance.
  • Provides communication, resources, development, and human resource support to assure union avoidance techniques are effective.
  • Provides leadership to provide consistent enforcement of plant work rules.
  • Resolves worker issues at lowest level in a consistent, unbiased proactive manner.
  • Manages 5-8 subordinate Group Leaders who oversee other shifts or areas of the production department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

The expected base salary range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, skills, experience, and location.

What You’ll Bring:
  • EducationBachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or eight years similar experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry.
  • Ability to apply such concepts as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in spreadsheet and word processing software.

Travel Employee must be able to travel up to 25 % of the time.
