Job summary

Ellington Public Schools is seeking motivated individuals for a second shift full-time custodial opening. Responsibilities include cleaning, maintenance, and outdoor duties like mowing and snow removal, under the supervision of the Head Custodian and Building Principal.

Qualified candidates should have a HS diploma or equivalent, be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and demonstrate basic computer skills. Background checks are required per district policy.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Able to sit, walk, stand, and move items as needed.
• Able to lift 10–25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to take direction and work independently.
• Plan, organize, and multi-task; meet priorities.
• Basic computer skills; navigate Google Suite and Microsoft tools.
• Pass state/national criminal history check and DCF background review.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties to create a clean, safe environment.
• Carry out outdoor tasks such as lawn mowing and snow removal.
• Collaborate with Head Custodian and Building Principal and custodial team.
