Job summary

Ellisville Elementary is seeking a Custodian for the day shift to support cleaning, maintenance, and custodial coordination across the building. The role involves cleaning floors, restrooms, and classrooms, ensuring safety and security, and assisting with school functions on a regular basis.

The position requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, climb ladders up to six feet, and work a 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Ability to understand and use supplies and equipment via safety data sheets.
• Math skills sufficient to handle chemical dilution instructions.
• Basic computer knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop and vacuum various floor surfaces with manual and mechanical equipment.
• Keep building secured and locked when needed.
• Clean and disinfect surfaces, equipment and classroom furniture.
• Assist in setting up and cleaning for school functions.
• Deliver packages and materials as needed.
• Provide exterior upkeep and snow/ice removal from exterior walks.
