Amsted Automotive Group, SMW Manufacturing in Taylor, Michigan, seeks a Quality Technician to join our team. You will inspect and verify product quality through dimensional checks, ensure calibration of measurement equipment, and confirm parts meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven team player with strong work history.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy and quality.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Inspect material or product for surface defects and tag defective items.
• Compare product with parts list or sample model to verify assembly.
• Verify specified dimensions.
• Reject defective parts and mark defect type.
• Interpret engineering drawings and consult with management/engineers.
• Select products for tests and evaluate dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
• Operate diagnostic equipment as needed.
• Take directions and perform other duties as assigned.
