Job summary

Sargent Aerospace in Tucson, AZ, seeks an Inspector II for second shift (Mon-Thu 3:30 pm–2:00 am) to inspect materials, processes and products and ensure conformance to quality standards. You will read drawings, perform in-process and final inspections, create first articles to AS9102, and mentor junior inspectors while upholding safety and the company's disciplined quality culture.

Requires 4+ years in ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing with GD&T, micrometers, calipers, height and bore gauges; U.S.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated mechanical inspection background.
• Basic GD&T understanding.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Basic measurement skills using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges and optical comparators.
• Basic math skills and reading comprehension.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is the foundation of daily work through vigilance and accountability.
• Promote Safety to all team members, Customers and Suppliers.
• Perform, in-process and final inspections for machine shop and production product.
• Perform receiving inspection on incoming product.
• Performs dimensional inspection using calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, and more complex tools as required.
• Interpret drawings, certifications, and military/industry specifications.
• Create and complete first articles to AS9102.
• Trains and mentors less experienced inspectors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
