Job summary

General Shale, the nation’s leading manufacturer of brick, masonry siding, and outdoor hardscape products, seeks a Second Shift Maintenance Technician for its Terre Haute, Indiana facility. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment to support safe, efficient production.

You will work on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, participate in new installations, and provide production coverage as needed, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of mechanical and/or PLC experience preferred.
• Valid Indiana driver's license required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights and outdoors.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete repairs.
• Use the work order system to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Assist with installation of new and replacement equipment.
• Provide production coverage as needed, including weekends and holidays.

General Shale, the nation’s leading manufacturer of brick, masonry siding, and outdoor hardscape products, is seeking a Second Shift Maintenance Technician for our Terre Haute, Indiana facility. The plant features a fully automated clay grinding, screening, and brick production operation.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment to support safe and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete repairs.
• Use the work order system to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Assist with installation of new and replacement equipment.
• Provide production coverage as needed, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment.
• Welding, electrical, and PLC experience preferred.
• Forklift and man-lift experience preferred.High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of mechanical and/or PLC experience preferred.
• Valid Indiana driver's license required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work at heights and outdoors.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Schedule and Compensation:

• Full-time, Monday–Friday.
• Call-ins and overtime may be required, primarily during equipment breakdowns.
• $24.00–$30.00 per hour, paid weekly.
