Job summary

General Shale is seeking a PLC / Electrical Technician in Texas to maintain and improve plant electrical systems and automated equipment. You will support production with preventative maintenance and system upgrades while diagnosing PLC-controlled equipment and updating control software.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial electronics, NEC knowledge, and hands-on experience with VFDs, HMIs, and Allen‑Bradley/Siemens PLCs. On-call shifts and weekend work are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial electronics or electrical experience.
• Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Experience with VFDs, HMIs, PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic wiring and installation of industrial electrical equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical systems and automated machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC-controlled equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical and control systems.
• Modify and update software and equipment to support operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and controls.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, including off-shifts and weekends.
• Work primarily with control systems and software.

Job description

The PLC / Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant electrical systems and automated equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This position supports production through preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and on-call technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic wiring and installation of industrial electrical equipment
• Maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical systems and automated machinery
• Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC-controlled equipment
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical and control systems
• Modify and update software and equipment as needed to support operations
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and controls
• Participate in an on-call rotation, including off-shifts and weekends
• Work primarily with control systems and software

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in Electronics or a related field is preferred
• Industrial electrician experience strongly desired
