C-Rae Materials is seeking an experienced Second Shift Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations and help ensure equipment, machinery, and facility systems remain safe, reliable, and operational. This position will provide hands‑on leadership to the maintenance team, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to equipment breakdowns, and work closely with operations to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills who is comfortable supervising a team while also stepping in to assist with repairs and maintenance when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and provide direction to second‑shift maintenance technicians and other assigned maintenance personnel.
• Assign daily work, prioritize maintenance needs, and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Provide hands‑on assistance with troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance as needed.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and equipment‑related issues.
• Coordinate emergency repairs and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
• Oversee preventive maintenance activities and ensure scheduled maintenance is completed and properly documented.
• Inspect machinery and equipment to identify potential problems before failures occur.
• Ensure maintenance employees have the necessary tools, parts, equipment, and information to complete assigned work.
• Coordinate with operations and production supervisors regarding equipment availability, repairs, and maintenance priorities.
• Communicate unresolved maintenance issues, equipment concerns, and completed work to management and the incoming shift.
• Monitor the quality of maintenance work and verify repairs are completed correctly before equipment is returned to service.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, parts usage, inspections, and repair documentation.
• Assist with maintaining an appropriate inventory of commonly used maintenance parts and supplies.
• Ensure maintenance areas, shops, tools, and equipment are kept clean, organized, and in good working condition.
• Assist with training and developing maintenance technicians in troubleshooting, repair procedures, safety practices, and proper equipment maintenance.
• Monitor employee performance, attendance, productivity, and adherence to company policies.
• Enforce company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and other applicable safety standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance procedures, and overall operational efficiency.
• Communicate significant equipment failures or operational concerns to management in a timely manner.
• Perform other maintenance, supervisory, and operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous industrial, manufacturing, quarry, aggregate, construction, or heavy‑equipment maintenance experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory, lead, or team‑lead experience strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance documentation.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, diagrams, and technical information.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during second‑shift operations.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic or written maintenance documentation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, crouch, and work in various positions for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work around moving machinery, heavy equipment, dust, noise, heat, and varying weather or environmental conditions.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment.

Work Schedule - Second Shift

This position requires availability to work the designated second‑shift schedule. Additional hours, overtime, weekends, or emergency call‑ins may be required depending on operational and maintenance needs.

Safety Expectations

The Second Shift Maintenance Supervisor is expected to lead by example and maintain a strong safety culture. This includes ensuring employees follow established safety procedures, properly use PPE, follow lockout/tagout requirements, report hazards, and complete maintenance activities in a manner that protects employees, equipment, and company property.

This position is primarily performed in an industrial and maintenance environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, grease, moving equipment, elevated temperatures, outdoor conditions, and other conditions commonly associated with maintenance and heavy industrial operations.
