Job summary

The Summit Hotel Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Line Cook (Second Shift) to join the culinary team. Prepare quality dishes across pantry, fry, broiler, and expeditor stations, following standardized recipes and production standards for Restaurants, Room Service, and the Hotelitarian Cafeteria.

Ideal candidates have 6 months to 1 year in food/beverage service, strong knife skills, safety and sanitation knowledge, and the ability to lift 20–40 lbs while standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• Education: High school education or equivalent experience. Culinary certificate or degree preferred.
• Experience: Six months – 1 year in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
• Skills: Knowledge of operating industrial ovens and cooking ranges; understand safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production standards.
• Start food items ahead of time, ensuring not to prepare more than needed.
• Work all kitchen stations including broiler, sauté, fry, pantry, and expediter.
• Date and rotate perishables; keep foods at proper temperatures.
• Check pars, determine prep needs, freezer pull and line setup; assist buffet stock.
• Return unused items to storage and date-cover perishables.
• Assist in controlling food costs and waste; support cafeteria service.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
