Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners, LLC is seeking a Line Cook for the PM shift at The Summit Hotel in Cincinnati, OH. You will prepare culinary items for the hotel restaurants, room service, and Cafeteria, following recipes and quality standards.

The role requires 6 months to 1 year in food service, High School diploma or culinary training preferred, ability to lift 20-40 lbs, and strong safety and sanitation knowledge. Excellent teamwork and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Culinary certificate or degree preferred.
• Six months – 1 year in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
• Strong knowledge of operating industrial sized ovens and cooking ranges.
• Knowledge of preparing different cuisines, relishes, soups and salads.
• Basic understanding of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Able to lift, push, carry 20-40 lbs.
• Stand continuously for long periods of time.
• Able to read, speak and understand English.
• Able to communicate hotel services to management, staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and standards.
• Start food items in advance and manage quantities to avoid excess waste.
• Assemble multiple orders efficiently.
• Work all kitchen stations: broiler, sauté, fry, pantry, and expediter.
• Date and rotate perishables; maintain proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use and assist in buffet stocking.
• Return unused items to storage and date perishables.
• Assist in controlling food cost and waste.
• Prepare and serve food for the Hotelitarian Cafeteria as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
