Job summary

American Flowform and Machining in Billerica, MA seeks an Operations Lead for the second shift to coordinate manufacturing and continuous improvements in CNC machining and flow-forming. You’ll apply lean principles, lead a team, and drive cost reductions while solving operational problems.

You will train, supervise, and motivate staff, manage schedules, and ensure data integrity in ERP systems. Expect interaction across departments to sustain on-time delivery and safety.

Qualifications

• Technology degree OR minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience
• CNC shop background with lathe experience
• Background in metallurgy or metal forming
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Must be able to work 4pm–12:30am, Mon–Fri; may flex hours
• U.S. Citizenship due to ITAR/EAR compliance

Responsibilities

• Achieve safety, quality, cycle time and on-time delivery goals
• Direct area activities for safe, efficient operations
• Enforce company policies and rules for direct reports
• Lead, motivate, train and sustain a 6S workplace
• Schedule management and workforce coordination for machining areas
• Evaluate performance and implement improvement plans as needed
• Assist in creating work instructions for flow-forming and CNC processes
• Track timekeeping and PTO; ensure ERP data integrity
• Monitor processes to identify problems and opportunities
• Lead continuous improvement events using CI tools
• Maintain safety culture and address unsafe conditions
• Collaborate with other departments to improve on-time delivery and throughput
