Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is seeking a Production Supervisor-Second Shift for the Linear Department in Simsbury, CT. You will lead a team, drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets, and implement continuous improvement initiatives across shifts in collaboration with engineers and planners.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in manufacturing or related engineering, a BS in engineering or business, strong leadership, and experience with Lean, ERP/MRP, and MS

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of project, manufacturing or related engineering experience.
• BS in an engineering or business discipline preferred.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Established project management skills with the ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices and ERP/MRP planning systems.
• Excellent verbal and presentation skills suitable for interaction with production team and management.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; familiar with MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of Linear Department personnel and address safety concerns.
• Ensure product quality and re-prioritize work as needed for quality disposition.
• Achieve delivery and cost goals while adhering to standard work and instructions.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts including standard work and time studies.
• Lead manufacturing problem solving and implement corrective actions.
• Implement Lean methodologies across processes and tooling.
• Train personnel on EBOS, ISO procedures and continuous improvement.
• Support production results tracking and countermeasure implementation.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping and approve timecards.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and assist weekly cycle counts.
• Interface with operators, quality inspectors, and product engineers.
