Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company in Connecticut is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Second Shift in the Linear & FCDCA cell. You will lead safety, quality, delivery and cost initiatives while driving continuous improvement with product engineers, planners, and management.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in engineering or business with 3+ years in manufacturing or related fields, plus strong leadership, problem-solving and Lean/ERP experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in engineering or business and 3+ years in project/manufacturing or related engineering.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead programs and projects.
• Experience with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and ERP/MRP planning systems.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of Linear Department personnel and address safety concerns.
• Ensure product quality and re-prioritize work as needed for quality reviews.
• Achieve delivery and cost goals while following standard work and manufacturing instructions.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts and implement 6S initiatives.
• Lead problem-solving efforts and implement corrective actions across shifts.
• Implement Lean methodologies and improve productivity through standard work and tool presentation.
• Train and mentor personnel on EBAD processes and continuous improvement.
• Support production results tracking and countermeasure implementation.
• Maintain accurate timecard reporting and inventory accuracy in production areas.
• Coordinate with operators, quality inspectors, and product engineers.

This opportunity is located within our Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company business, a global leader of mission-critical hardware and systems solutions including precision energetics systems and innovative explosive solutions.

TheProduction Supervisor-Second Shiftwill be responsible forLinear Departmentpersonneland Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost resultswhile leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives during our second shift operation of the Linear & FCDCA cell. Candidate willwork in coordination withProduct Engineers, Production Planner, Assembly Production Supervisorand LTS Production Managerto ensureexecutionoftasksand milestones.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Safety of allLinear Departmentpersonnelandimmediately addresses any safety concern.
• Ensures Quality of product built in the Linear Department andre-prioritizes work if product must be put on hold for quality department review/disposition.
• Achievement of Delivery and Cost goalsin the Linear Department; ensuringadherencetostandard work and manufacturing instructions.
• Leadscontinuous improvement efforts,includingdevelopment ofstandard work,balancing of operator loading, execution of time studiesandimplementation of6Sinitiatives.
• Leadsmanufacturing problemsolving efforts, investigatesprocess failures and implementscorrective actionsin support of all shifts.
• ImplementsLean methodologies includingpoint of use tooling, material presentation, waste eliminationand process improvements.
• Trains and mentors assigned personnel on EBOS, ISO procedures, manufacturing documentation and continuous improvement.
• Supports Linear Transfer Systems team with production results tracking and identification/implementation of countermeasures to improve performance.
• Responsible for accurate time clock reporting of assigned personnel and timecard approvals.
• Ensures accuracy of inventory in production areas and supports weekly cycle counting of product.
• Interfaceswith production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, andproduct engineers.

Requirements

The successful candidatemust haveaminimumof 3yearsof project, manufacturing or related engineering experience.Additionally, it is desired that the candidate has experience/educationin the following areas:

• BS in an engineering/businessdisciplineis strongly preferred
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs /projects
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
• Established project management skills with the ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices and in-depth understanding ERP/MRP planning systems
• Excellent verbal and presentation skills suitable for interaction with production team and with various level of management
• Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques
• Strong skills in MS Windows - Excel, Word and Power-point. Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated yearly wage range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000.

The salary range represents the range EBAD has established in good faith for this position and may vary based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
