Base pay range
$18.00/yr - $20.00/yr
Purpose
The Laboratory Technician, Level I, is focused on generating high-quality data at a large capacity for POLARIS Laboratory customers using laboratory instruments while following work instructions demonstrating successful mastery of assigned tests.
Shift
3:15pm - 11:45pm MT
Essential Functions
- Uses resources to achieve outcomes: Manages their use of common software such as ECI, ADI, HRN, JIRA, Verse, and Yammer. Manages use of LIMS effectively in the lab by navigating menus, printing paperwork, and researching sample history.
- Meets production: Achieves daily production goals, troubleshoots and escalates instrument issues, works according to schedule within attendance policies, and performs instrument maintenance.
- Supports the Quality system: Adheres to Work Instructions, maintains audit readiness, keeps training up-to-date, and strives for high quality as reflected in customer satisfaction.
- Supports the Safety program: Takes actions to prevent safety incidents, uses PPE appropriately, and maintains safety certifications.
- Contributes as a team member: Communicates needs, supports team goals, and suggests process improvements.
Supportive Functions
- Collaborates with various departments to resolve issues and support audits.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizens.

Required Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma, or 3 years of service at POLARIS in a related role.
- Completion of mandatory training within 90 days.
- Internal candidates must have no warnings in the past 12 months and a satisfactory review.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a production or laboratory environment.
Safety Requirements
- Use of PPE, including eye protection, as per OSHA laws.
- Maintain up-to-date safety training.
