Job summary

TO Plastics is seeking an Industrial Equipment Maintenance Technician for the second shift (1:45pm–10:00pm, Mon–Fri) in Clearwater, MN. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, repair of mechanical equipment, PLC programming, and hands-on fabrication support in a plastics environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong maintenance background, experience with plastics processing, reading blueprints, and PLC systems; safety and documentation are essential. Comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Trade school certificate preferred or 1-2 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Strong background in machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of plastics processing and film extrusion.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and construction blueprints.
• Knowledge of PLCs, servo controls, drives, and conveyors.
• Familiarity with Managers Plus and lookups; accurately enter hours worked per work order.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to work with multiple software applications.
• Able to read, write, speak, and comprehend basic English; communicate professionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine preventative maintenance and repair on mechanical equipment.
• Clean machines and parts; lubricate and replace components per procedures.
• Dismantle and reassemble machines for repair; replace worn parts.
• Inspect damaged parts and advise on repairs; install new parts according to specs.
• Operate and adjust machine controls; read work orders for required maintenance.
• Collaborate with team to repair or move machines and parts.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies; requisition parts as needed.
• Develop, test, and implement PLC programs and logic; document changes.
