Job summary

Intek Plastics is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support 2nd shift manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving equipment and facility systems. You will join a collaborative team where your expertise makes a real impact daily.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on machinery, support of electrical and hydraulic systems, and collaboration with production to minimize downtime while adhering to QMS standards.

Qualifications

• 1-2 year technical degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, Machine Shop, Hydraulics, Water Treatment Systems, or Power Transmission.
• OR 5+ years of equivalent maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and plumbing knowledge.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics.
• Good organizational and basic math skills.
• Comfortable using computers and maintenance tracking systems.
• Ability to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Reliable, regular attendance and a strong safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, forklifts, pallet trucks, and related machinery.
• Support facility systems, including water tanks, chillers, compressors, oil temperature controllers, filters, and electrical systems in compliance with national codes.
• Perform fabrication and welding work (machinery components, gates, guards, etc.).
• Operate shop equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
• Assist with general facility upkeep, such as replacing bulbs/ballasts, moving furniture, cleaning equipment, and maintaining exterior areas.
• Track daily activities, parts usage, and maintenance records in our ERP system.
• Partner with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Support and follow our Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
