Job summary

Excel Mining, LLC is seeking a Preparation Plant Electrician for Second Shift (3:00 PM–11:00 PM, Mon–Fri) to troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical systems in the coal preparation plant, ensuring safe, reliable operation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in coal prep plant electrical work and holds Kentucky Surface Miner and Kentucky Electrical Certifications, with strong knowledge of industrial power distribution, NEC, PLCs, VFDs, MCCs.

Qualifications

5+ years of electrical experience in a coal preparation plant.
Kentucky Surface Miner Certification with annual retraining current.
Kentucky Electrical Certification with retraining current.
Strong knowledge of industrial power distribution systems.
Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Experience troubleshooting high- and low-voltage systems, motors, VFDs, MCCs, and switchgear.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues in preparation plant equipment and systems.
Install, maintain, test, and repair high- and low-voltage electrical systems.
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on plant electrical equipment.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
Install and maintain motors, motor controls, starters, drives, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and related equipment.
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation components.
Inspect electrical installations for compliance with regulations and company standards.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Collaborate with operations to minimize plant downtime.
Follow MSHA, state, and federal safety regulations; participate in training.
Respond to plant electrical emergencies as needed.
