Job summary

Excel Mining, LLC is seeking a dedicated Preparation Plant Electrician for the Second Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Mon-Fri). The role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across the coal preparation plant to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical experience in a coal preparation plant.
• Kentucky Surface Miner Certification with annual retraining.
• Kentucky Electrical Certification with annual retraining.
• Strong knowledge of industrial power distribution systems.
• Thorough understanding of the NEC.
• Experience troubleshooting high- and low-voltage systems, motors, drives, MCCs, switchgear.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Safety and regulatory compliance focus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues in preparation plant equipment and systems.
• Install, maintain, test, and repair both high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on plant electrical equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Install and maintain motors, motor controls, starters, drives, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and associated electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation components.
• Inspect electrical installations and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
• Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
