Job summary

VPGC, LLC is seeking a Second Shift Feed Mill Control Room Operator in Broadway, VA. You will be responsible for safe, accurate batching, blending and pelleting of animal feed, with duties including logging runs, operating pellet mill controls, and ensuring proper routing to bins.

The role requires attention to safety, good math and computer skills, and the ability to work independently with good attendance. Training in safety procedures is provided and essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must be computer literate and have good math skills.
• Must be able to speak and write in English clearly and fluently.

Responsibilities

• Batch, blend, and pellet feed safely and efficiently.
• Evaluate production needs at each shift start and plan production with dispatcher.
• Log each run accurately on daily mixing sheets and QA sheets as needed.
• Operate pellet mill controls to maximize pellet quality and tonnage while preserving throughput.
• Ensure produced feed is routed to correctly labeled bins at loadout.
• Fill micro-ingredient bins and prevent cross contamination to keep operations running.
• Grease pellet mill rolls every 4 hours of production and check roll adjustment.
• Monitor printers and reports for clear, complete production data.
• Maintain a clean work area and report leaks immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned; maintain excellent attendance; work with limited supervision.
• Follow all safety procedures and required trainings (lockout/tagout, fall protection, forklift, confined space).
