Job summary

Vermeer in Iowa is seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to help protect team members by investigating incidents, conducting audits, and implementing risk controls on the second shift.

You will educate colleagues, partner with operations to improve standard work, and ensure compliance with OSHA and internal EHS programs. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s in OHS or equivalent, OSHA 30 preferred, and manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• OSHA 30-Hour or equivalent preferred.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate moderately complex incidents to identify root cause(s) and create appropriate countermeasures.
• Conduct EHS audits to monitor compliance and assist the operational team members in the development and implementation of action plans.
• Educate other team members in risk identification and mitigation strategies.
• Partners with key stakeholders to create and implement basic process improvements and enhance standard work practices.
