Job summary

Sheboygan County is seeking a dedicated Custodian to help maintain County facilities. You will perform cleaning, sanitizing, and light maintenance to keep spaces safe, welcoming, and orderly for employees, residents, and visitors.

This second-shift, indoor role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or with a team. You will use cleaning equipment, follow PPE and safety procedures, and adapt to different County buildings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintaining County buildings through daily tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing.
• Sanitizing restrooms, clinical areas, and high-touch surfaces.
• Maintaining floors and carpets using specialized cleaning equipment.
• Collecting and disposing of trash and recyclables.
• Restocking cleaning supplies and organizing storage areas.
• Performing periodic deep-cleaning duties including vents, stairwells, baseboards, and other detailed cleaning tasks.
• Assisting with opening and closing facilities to help ensure building security.
• Identifying and reporting maintenance, repair, or safety concerns.
• Supporting custodial operations across multiple County buildings as needed.
