Job summary

Adecco Staffing is partnering with a Cranston, RI manufacturer to hire a 2nd Shift Team Lead to oversee daily production in a fast-paced machining environment. The role runs 3pm-11pm, Monday through Friday, with pay starting at $25 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of machining or CNC manufacturing experience preferred.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and quality inspection methods.
• Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or Swiss machines preferred.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support 2nd shift machining personnel in daily production activities.
• Monitor workflow to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Assign work, prioritize jobs, and coordinate shift activities with management.
• Set up and oversee CNC machines and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues to minimize downtime.
• Ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections with calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Train and mentor operators on equipment, safety procedures, and best practices.
• Maintain production, scrap, and downtime records.
• Enforce safety policies and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and quality to resolve issues.
• Support Lean/5S continuous improvement initiatives.
