Job summary

Greystone of Lincoln is seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator to run CNC lathes and support production in a fast-paced shop in Lincoln, RI. The role emphasizes precision, tooling changes, offsets, and routine inspections to ensure high quality components.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of CNC turning experience, ability to read drawings and process sheets, and strong troubleshooting skills. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts are available, with pay ranging based on experience and shift differentials.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
Experience performing tooling changes, offset adjustments, and production optimization on CNC turning centers.
Strong knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and metalworking processes.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain CNC lathes to produce precision components according to engineering specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, process sheets, and specifications to determine machining operations.
Load tooling, perform tool changes, adjust offsets, and make machine control adjustments to ensure optimal performance and part quality.
Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions, dimensional deviations, or quality issues and make necessary corrections.
Perform first‑piece, in‑process, and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
Troubleshoot machining issues including tool wear, programming deviations, dimensional concerns, and material‑related challenges.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Collaborate with engineers, programmers, supervisors, and team members to optimize production processes and achieve production goals.
Follow established safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
Document production activities including machine settings, tooling changes, quality inspections, SPC data, and production output.
