Hunter Engineering Company in Durant, MS seeks a Certified Welder for 2nd shift (3:30 pm-12 am Mon-Fri) to weld parts to drawing tolerances and inspect weld quality. The role requires safety adherence, blueprint reading, and tool operation, with overtime possible.

Starting pay is $28.15/hr with a $0.50 differential, totaling $28.65/hr with potential advancement. Must have a high school diploma or GED, pass Hunter’s welding certification, and have at least one year of industrial welding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass Hunter Welding certification test.
• At least 1 year of welding experience in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read blueprints and read measuring tools.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment and basic MS Office is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Observe and follow all safety rules.
• Read a tape measure, 6" scale, and a combination square or learn to read them.
• Fit and weld parts to design tolerances.
• Inspect welds for size and conformity to drawings.
• Perform layout, fit up, and tack welds.
• Operate oxy/acetylene torch or plasma cutting tools.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and may train others.
• Overtime and weekend work as scheduled.
• Report to supervisor on work progress and quality.
