Job summary

RCMA Immokalee Community Academy in Immokalee, FL is seeking a Regular Full-Time Second Grade Spanish Teacher to teach in a 50:50 English/Spanish dual language program. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and a Florida-appropriate teaching certificate, with 1–3 years of prior teaching preferred.

The successful candidate will engage English Language Learners and contribute to a small, community-focused school serving farmworker families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Temporary Teacher's Certificate or be Certified as required by Florida statutes.
• One to three years of teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safeguards the health and safety of all students.
• Assists students to achieve academically in language, literacy, math, social studies, science, arts, and physical development through classroom instruction.
• Assists students in developing cognitive, social, emotional, and psychomotor skills appropriate to age, grade, and ability through daily instruction.
• Establishes rapport with students and parents; communicates progress to facilitate two-way communication.
• Establishes classroom routines and procedures; enforces behavior standards and corrects issues with available resources.
• Plans and evaluates learning activities, daily lessons, and student progress; maintains class records.
• Assists in assessing student entry-level, develops and implements Student Achievement Plans.
• Collaborates with team to develop curricula and teaching strategies.
