• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, creating thoughtful lessons and an orderly, joyful classroom.
• Provide academic support, monitor student progress, and coordinate with school leadership to address needs promptly.
• Uphold the culture, policies, dress code, and safety procedures of Great Hearts.
• Communicate clearly with families and initiate conferences to foster home-school partnerships.
• Participate in faculty collaboration, school events, and professional growth opportunities.

We believe the highest goal of education is to become good, intellectually and morally.Distinctive benefits for Great Hearts faculty:Exceptional Benefits (medical, dental, vision etc.) with minimal employee costMatching 401K programUniquely valuable professional development offerings, from great books seminars with academy colleagues, to leadership and special education coursework/pathways, to reduced tuition graduate degree support with select partner universitiesRoles and Responsibilities:About the K-5 Teacher Role:As a Homeroom Teacher you provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning.Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, as well as rich content in History, Science, and Literature.As a Homeroom Teacher you enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in your classroom.Roles and Responsibilities:Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.Required/Preferred Education:Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching roleCertification is not required for general educationAll majors are welcomeRequired/Preferred Experience: K-5 Teaching experienceRequired/Preferred Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, and an interest in reading great books.Physical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
