Great Hearts Academies in Anthem, AZ is seeking a First Grade Elementary School Teacher to join our archway campus. The role involves delivering the Great Hearts curriculum for K-5, with a focus on building a love of learning and character.

You will collaborate with an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher to provide a supportive classroom environment and engage families for home-school partnerships. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree, is open to all majors, and supports a classical liberal

Responsabilidades

• As a Homeroom Teacher you provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning.
• Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, and rich content in History, Science, and Literature.
• As a Homeroom Teacher you enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in your classroom.
• Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
• Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt

Compensation Type: Salary

Compensation Amount: starting at $40,000

Required/Preferred Education:

• Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
• Certification is not required for general education
• All majors are welcome

Required/Preferred Experience:

• K-5 Teaching experience

Required/Preferred Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and an interest in reading great books.

Physical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.

US work authorization isrequired, but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
