Job summary

Viasat, a global leader in communications, seeks an SEC Reporting Accountant/Senior Accountant to assist with SEC filings and internal reporting. You will learn reporting processes, implement accounting policies, and help automate closing cycles while owning general accounting and analysis.

The role is hybrid, based out of Carlsbad with in-office collaboration multiple days per week. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in accounting with SEC filing exposure, a BA/Accounting, and strong GAAP

Qualifications

• 2-4 years related experience in accounting and/or with SEC filings (10-Q and 10K).
• Bachelor's in Business Administration (Accounting Preferred).
• Basic to solid understanding of GAAP, financial statements and accounting theory.
• Highly organized, detail oriented and driven individual, who is a fast learner and has propensity to grow within the organization.
• Self-directed, self-review skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, analytical skills, works well in a team environment.
• U.S. Citizenship is required

Responsibilities

• Assist with SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 11-K, annual reports, proxy).
• Learn reporting processes and accounting policies; implement procedures to improve closing cycles.
• Take ownership of general accounting, reporting and analysis.
• Prepare stock compensation valuations and journal entries; disclosures; XBRL tagging; segment reporting; variance analysis.
• Coordinate internal and external quarterly reporting deliverables; support SOX 404 testing.
