A global, diversified manufacturing and solutions organization is seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting to join its Corporate Controllership team. Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting & Consolidations, this role will oversee a small U.S.-based team while also managing an offshore Lease Center of Excellence (COE) team.
This is a highly visible position with significant exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional partners across Corporate Accounting, Consolidations, Technical Accounting, FP&A, Investor Relations, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and HR. The role will play a key part in external financial reporting, technical accounting, accounting policy, process improvement, and broader financial reporting transformation initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Lead the preparation, review, and filing of SEC Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting deadlines.
- Manage the preparation, review, filing, and audit of Form 11-K and U.S. pension plan financial statements.
- Monitor evolving SEC reporting and disclosure requirements and perform benchmarking analyses to enhance reporting quality.
- Partner with Investor Relations on quarterly earnings materials, including earnings presentations and investor supplements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on complex accounting matters, including share-based compensation, EPS, debt, hedge accounting, and other technical accounting topics.
- Research accounting guidance and prepare technical accounting memos, policies, and related documentation.
- Lead implementation of new accounting standards, SEC reporting requirements, disclosures, and related training.
- Maintain and update the organization's accounting policy manual.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the offshore Lease COE team.
- Partner closely with external auditors throughout the annual audit and financial reporting cycle.
- Drive process improvement, automation, and financial reporting transformation initiatives.
- Review XBRL exhibits and support various ad hoc accounting and reporting projects.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Financial Reporting team, including performance management and career development.
What You'll Bring
- 6+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Experience in both public accounting and public-company environments preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA required.
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting and SEC reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate team members.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to learn and leverage financial systems and technology.
- Experience with Workiva and/or OneStream preferred.
