Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Active CPA certification is required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting, audit, SEC reporting, or financial reporting experience.
• Experience supporting SEC reporting and public company financial statements; financial services exposure preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC requirements, financial statement prep, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage preparation and filing of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and other disclosures.
• Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, disclosures, and schedules.
• Lead quarterly and annual reporting timelines with internal/external stakeholders.
• Research U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements and support new accounting guidance.
• Coordinate with external auditors and internal teams during reviews/audits.
• Maintain effective financial reporting controls and documentation.

Job Overview – SEC Reporting Manager

Atlantic Group is hiring an SEC Reporting Manager in Boston, MA for our client.

Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000/year + bonus

Location: Boston, MA

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

The SEC Reporting Manager will oversee SEC filings, external financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, including quarterly and annual reporting processes. This role will partner with accounting, finance, legal, and external audit teams while supporting technical accounting, U.S. GAAP requirements, and financial reporting controls.

Responsibilities as the SEC Reporting Manager:

• SEC Reporting: Manage the preparation and filing of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required public company disclosures.


• Financial Statements: Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, management disclosures, and supporting reporting schedules.


• Reporting Coordination: Lead quarterly and annual reporting timelines while coordinating deliverables across internal and external stakeholders.


• Technical Accounting: Research U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and support the implementation of new accounting guidance.


• Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and internal teams throughout quarterly reviews and year-end audits.


• Internal Controls: Maintain effective financial reporting controls, documentation, and processes to support accurate and compliant reporting.

Qualifications for the SEC Reporting Manager:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.


• Certification: Active CPA certification is required.


• Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting, audit, SEC reporting, or financial reporting experience within public accounting, a public company, or a combination of public and private accounting is required.


• Industry Knowledge: Experience supporting SEC reporting requirements and public company financial statements is required, with financial services or investment management exposure preferred.


• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, financial statement preparation, technical accounting, and Microsoft Excel is required.


• Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
