Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools seeks a paraeducator for the SEB core program. You will assist the certificated teacher, supervise students, and perform clerical tasks under supervision to support student learning.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent, basic spelling, math and grammar skills, and willingness to follow program guidelines; experience with students with disabilities is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• AA degree or college credits may meet requirements.
• Pass state-approved paraeducator assessment test can be used.
• Proficient in basic spelling, math and grammar.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the classroom teacher for the purpose of accomplishing tasks within program parameters.
• Work under supervision of a certificated teacher or specialist and follow directions.
• Instruct individuals or small groups; supervise groups for periods of time.
• Perform clerical tasks.
• Perform health-related procedures, as needed, with proper training.
