Job summary

Parkway School District is seeking a full-time Elementary Teacher Assistant to support the Social Emotional Behavioral (SEB) Specialist in elementary settings. You will assist teachers, reinforce learning with students, and help implement behavior plans and strategies for students in need.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers and SEB personnel, supervision during activities, and participation in preschool workshops and parent conferences as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 36 college credit hours and official transcripts.
• Or completion of substitute teacher training with HS diploma/GED/HISET and translations.
• DESE Substitute Certification is required before you can work.

Responsibilities

• Become familiar with the teacher's procedures, schedule, and materials.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in developing strategies based on students' needs and abilities.
• Guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial work.
• Provide escort and assistance to students in various settings.
• Check work, correct papers, and supervise tests and makeup work.
• Assist in maintaining teaching materials and facilities.
• Support with lunch, classroom routines, and transitions.
• Notify teachers of problems or special information about students.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and conferences.
