The Barnett Hotel in New Orleans is seeking a full-time food runner to support the Seaworthy team. Deliver dishes promptly, keep service areas clean, and help ensure a smooth, high-quality dining experience for guests.

You'll work in a historic setting near the French Quarter, collaborating with servers and kitchen staff during busy service periods while upholding safety standards and hospitality excellence.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hospitality or restaurant experience preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced dining is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 30–40 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of food safety guidelines.

Housed in a historic 19th century Creole townhome built in 1832, Seaworthy showcases wild-caught, sustainably harvested oysters from American waters-including the Gulf Coast, East Coast, and West Coast-alongside locally sourced fish and game. Part of The Barnett Hotel, we are looking for a full-time food runner for the Seaworthy team.

The Food Runner supports the restaurant team by delivering food orders promptly and accurately, maintaining cleanliness and organization of service areas, and ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience for guests.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced dining environment a plus.

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently during high-volume service periods.
• Ability to carry trays and deliver food safely and professionally.
• Strong attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 30-40 lbs. for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders to guests quickly, accurately, and professionally.
• Ensure dishes are delivered at the correct temperature and presentation.
• Communicate with kitchen staff and servers to maintain smooth service flow.
• Assist servers by clearing plates, refilling beverages, and resetting tables as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line, service stations, and dining areas.
• Help prepare garnishes, sauces, or condiments for service when needed.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with opening, running, and closing side duties.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
