McKinstry is seeking a Sales Engineer in Seattle, WA within the SPG Mechanical division. You will develop relationships, produce proposals and estimates, and guide projects from lead to close.

This role requires 5 years in mechanical/electrical construction, 2 years closing sales, and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Strong client communication and industry knowledge are essential for success in a fast-growing market.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in all Sales Engineer responsibilities.
• Intermediate MS Office skills; Visio and SharePoint preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience required.
• 5 years with a mechanical/electrical construction contractor, engineering firm or vendor.
• 2 years leading and closing sales.
• Ability to read/interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, estimates.
• Knowledge of building infrastructure mechanical/electrical systems.
• Conceptual estimating knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead generation and customer development.
• Prepare accurate estimates and quality proposals.
• Build market strategies including SWOT and competitive analysis.
• Coordinate with internal teams to meet timelines and requirements.
• Support Senior Account Executive on larger projects.
• Act as primary client contact and relationship owner.
• Utilize McKinstry tools to support client strategies.
