Job summary

The Allen Institute in Seattle is seeking a highly organized Research Associate I in Molecular Genetics Scientific Operations to support the Genetic Tools Pipeline. You will help define cell types in the mouse nervous system using single-cell genomics and assist with viral vectors and transgenic lines, enabling brain research across teams and external collaborators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, biology, neuroscience, or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to learn new software quickly.

Responsibilities

• Support Genetic Tools Pipeline coordination, data quality, and metadata organization across pipeline databases.
• Perform bench-level laboratory support including sample preparation, processing, and storage.
• Maintain laboratory organization, inventory, and equipment compliance; coordinate with facilities and vendors.
• Manage biological resource distribution and MTAs and repository reporting.
• Create and audit SOPs and process-tracking tools for pipeline visibility and data integrity.
• Communicate professionally across internal teams and external partners; ensure follow-through.
